Ernie Dominguez grew up on a small family farm in the Rio Grande Valley where he raised registered and commercial cattle. He became active in the livestock industry through showing and his involvement in 4-H, FFA and several breed associations. Being a part of the FFA and 4-H played a huge role in his life. He was an honored FFA member and Lone Star Farmer Degree recipient while exhibiting champion breeding beef heifers and bulls. In his junior show career, he was named champion showman at numerous shows across the state. He received his undergraduate degree from Texas State University and graduate degree from the University of Kansas.
Work experience includes time spent in Kansas State Government serving as a Governor's Fellow with specific appointments in the Governor's Science and Energy Policy Office and in the Department of Commerce working closely with the Ag Marketing Department. In his role, Ernie traveled the state working with farmers and ranchers to identify renewable energy opportunities. He also helped develop the Governor’s State Energy Policy.
As a Judge: Ernie takes pride in quality livestock selection, being non-politcal, providing informative reasoning, and always explaining how exhibitors can make improvements.

Ernie and his family reside in Austin, Texas. He enjoys spending time judging livestock shows, and helping young people become successful with their show cattle projects. He also serves as an advisor to 4-H Clubs and FFA Chapters. Ernie teaches showmanship principles and practices to youth all over Texas. He is always looking for opportunities to help youth with their show cattle projects, showmanship and judging.
