Judge personal information:
My name is Matt Griffith, I am an FFA teacher and graduate from The Ohio State University where I judged dairy cattle collegiately at the World Dairy Expo and NAILE. I grew up on a dairy and have been judging locally for 3 years at 14 county fairs. Below is a copied cover letter that I use for dairy employers interest.
I am writing you today as I am interested in judging your dairy beef or dairy cattle show at your county fair. I have been judging for a few years now at local events and at several county fairs. If you already have a judge for this year please keep my information for the future years as it has been my goal this summer to get my name out there to as many county fairs as possible to begin my professional judging career. As you may notice in my attached resume, I have an extensive amount of judging experience. I grew up on a 200 cattle Holstein dairy farm where we milked about 50 dairy Holsteins. I have been judging since I was 12 years old going on 19 years now judging competitively and being involved in the judging circuits. I was taught by John Ayars, Bonnie Ayars and Pete Spike. In 4-H and as well in college at The Ohio State University, I was named an All-American judge at the World Dairy Expo. I have coached 8 National FFA teams and have judged fairs in dairy beef and in dairy cattle at Athens, Madison, Trumbull, Tuscawaras, Shelby, Medina, Clark, Perry, Preeble, Fayette, Washington, and Marion County. I would love the opportunity to add your fair to my resume going forward as I try and get my name out there.
Thank you for your time in considering me as your judge. Again, if you already have a judge please keep my information for future years. Should you need additional information, please contact me at (513-543-0319) or e-mail at email@example.com. I am excited about this opportunity and look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
