Meet Michael Barry from Greenbrier, TN

Judge personal information:

I began judging livestock as a 4-H and FFA member in high school.  While I was a youth, I exhibited market lambs and registered Suffolk sheep and market hogs.  During my senior year in high school, my FFA chapter (White House, Tennessee) won the State FFA Livestock Judging Contest.  I was the high individual scorer in oral reasons and high overall individual scorer at the state contest.  My team competed at the National FFA Livestock Judging Contest in Kansas City, where I was awarded a Bronze Individual Award.
 
I have worked as a 4-H agent in Tennessee for 20 years.  I enjoy working with youth and helping them develop life skills through working with livestock projects.

I believe that showmanship is the most important class in a youth livestock show.  It allows the kids to showcase their skills, and allows the judge to educate the kids in the show ring.

I have judged at numerous county fairs, area livestock shows, and county 4-H livestock shows.  I have experience judging showmanship, beef heifers, market hogs, poultry, and meat goats; however, my preference is judging sheep (market type and breeding sheep).
