Judge personal information:

Our judge today is Rachel Hyde. Rachel comes to us from Noblesville, Indiana. She raises around 200 head of purebred Shropshire and Hampshire sheep with her uncle in Hamilton County. Rachel was a 10-year 4-H member in Hamilton County, showing sheep, dairy goats, meat goats, and swine. She showed all species on a county and state level, yet she focused on raising and showing sheep on the county, state, and national level. Although Rachel enjoys judging sheep the most (both breeding sheep and market lambs), she is qualified to judge meat goats, dairy goats, and swine as well. She and her uncle have raised many state and national champions in the Shropshire and Hampshire breeds. Rachel is also a member of the National and Indiana Shropshire Association. She was an FFA member for 7 years, participating in livestock and soils judging. In May of 2018, Rachel graduated from Purdue with a degree in Agricultural Communications and a minor in Agronomy. Today, she is a Sales and Bid Coordinator for Red Gold, continuing to develope their sheep herd, and helping as much as she can on the family grain farm with her parents, brother, and husband. Rachel has been judging livestock since she was in middle school, but for the past several years on a professional level, beginning when she was attending Purdue as a student.
